After much controversy and delay, the CBSE NEET 2017 results came out last week. Earlier, the results were withheld by the Madras High Court based on a petition claiming that the difficulty level of NEET 2017 question papers was different for English papers and papers in vernacular languages. However, the Supreme Court gave a go-ahead to the CBSE and the results were declared last week.
Around 12 lakh students appeared for NEET 2017. Nearly 6.11 lakh students have cracked the exam. NEET, previously known as AIPMT, is the only medical entrance exam in India (except AIIMS and JIPMER) for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Government and private medical colleges across the country. There are around 64,000 MBBS seats and 40,000 BDS seats under NEET. It is one of the most competitive entrance exams in India.
Cracking the exam and ensuring a seat in your dream college requires two years of smart preparation that guarantees a high score. Just clearing the cut-off doesn’t guarantee a seat in a medical or dental college. Aspirants must take NEET mock tests regularly and assess themselves from their performance in order to improve upon the areas they are lagging behind.
Navdeep Singh from Punjab topped NEET 2017 with a score of 695 out of 720.
The list of the top ten rankers of NEET 2017 is as follows:
- Navdeep Singh (Punjab)
- Archit Gupta (Madhya Pradesh)
- Manish Mulchandani (Madhya Pradesh)
- Sankeerth Sadananda (Karnataka)
- Dogra Abhishek Veerendra (Maharashtra)
- Deric Joseph (Kerala)
- Kanishh Tayal (Haryana)
- Nikita Goyal (Punjab)
- Aryan Raj Singh (Uttar Pradesh)
- Tanish Bansal (Punjab)
In order to crack competitive entrance exams like NEET, one needs to work upon and improve their analytical and time management skills apart from having a detailed understanding of all the concepts in the syllabus. Time management plays a crucial role in any exam because, without efficient and effective management of time, you won’t be able to complete the paper even if you know everything. Hence, to complete the paper and score high, one needs to work on their overall development.
Solving NEET regularly on Embibe helps a lot to keep track of how much time you are spending to solve a question. Regular revision of the whole syllabus is another mandatory thing an aspirant should do if they are serious about getting a top rank and a guaranteed seat in their dream college.
